Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football and volunteering for the community. One of the first things he did is to help the Selmon familial. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. The family raised nine kids on a Eufala farm. Two, football. He is among three brothers who played for Oklahoma. All three brothers were All-Americans. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the United States by Outland and Lombardi Awards. In the three years that Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. Third scholarship he was named an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon was awarded a degree from education. Fourth-year service in the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. He moved to Tampa following college. He playing for the Buccaneers for nine years and was three-times all-pro. The business venture he started began. His first job was as a Account Relations Officer with First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. So it's not surprising that In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's most outstanding young men. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs as a college player he captained the 1975 team. In 1993, he became the as associate director at the University of South Florida. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. His parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
